Young Volunteers Camp 2017

As a Thank You to our fantastic Volunteers we hosted a special weekend camp for them at Jenny's Field, our activity centre based in South Hiendley, Barnsley. The camp took place from Friday 14th July – Sunday 16th July 2017.

We did loads of activities including Night Games, Team Challenges, Water Games, Karaoke, a Trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and more. Instead of sleeping in the Hall like we usually do on a Kidz Klub/Rock Solid weekend camp, this time we camped outside! Despite the abundance of bugs and frogs we survived!

We also participated in Cudworth's 'Tea in the Park' gala event on Saturday 15th July. This was a great opportunity to meet the community and to try and recruit new members for our Cudworth Kids Klub which will be restarting again in September. It also allowed Staff to support and mentor the Volunteers in developing their skills and building their confidence. The weekend was designed to not only be a fun break for the Volunteers, but also to train them in various elements of the work we do at Exodus, such as leading games, setting up/dismantling equipment, cleaning/tidying and more.

We have received some very positive feedback regarding the weekend on our Facebook page – /TheExodusProjectBarnsley:

"Had such a lovely weekend with the most amazing group of people, I truly am grateful for everything that you do for us, and the opportunities that you give us as volunteers! Thank you for such a great weekend 💜💚"Hayley

"Really good weekend has really built my confidence up more absolutely amazing team to work with ❤"Sarah W

"Courtney had a fab weekend, thank you for her invite, her confidence is growing with each and every activity x" – Karen on her niece Courtney

Exodus would not exist without the support, hard work and commitment of all the amazing people who give up their time to help make us what we are.

We are truly grateful to each and every one of you! Thank You!
