Volunteering with Exodus means joining a passionate team that's making a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and families. There is a role for everyone - whether you're interested in leading games, mentoring young people, admin work, gardening, maintenance, cooking or helping in our charity shops. The role of a volunteer working directly with children and young people is varied and exciting, with the main aim being to simply come alongside them - joining in, encouraging, and building positive relationships. Full training and ongoing support are provided by our experienced staff and volunteers, so you'll always feel confident and equipped in your role.
Just a few of the things volunteers will need to look for:
To give encouragement to a child who has low self-expectations.
To listen to a child who may be worried or unhappy.
To spot and avert possible trouble or danger.
Just contact us using any of the means below, and we will arrange to meet with you for an informal discussion:

We have a production line of Junior Volunteers emerging from our Rock Solid youth groups but we are always on the look out for more experienced adult volunteers to work in our weekly activity clubs and on weekend camps. Clubs occur in various locations Monday to Thursday in term time, and weekend camps happen monthly, usually the first weekend of every month. The role of the volunteer is to be alongside the children, lead activities where you have the skills and confidence, or just support the club leader in supervising and enthusing the children who come. There really is a role for everyone, whatever your level of confidence and experience is.
On weekend camps you can come for the whole weekend or just come and lead a particular session. So, if you’re a good cook, you could come and lead a cooking session with the children. If you’d rather not teach, just come and help prepare the camp meals. If you’re into crafts, you can come for a couple of hours and lead a craft workshop for example. Whatever your skills or experience, if it will be fun or educational for kids (preferable both) we would be very grateful for your time.
Volunteering in one of our charity shops is a great way to support the work of Exodus while gaining valuable experience and being part of a friendly team. As a shop volunteer, your role may include sorting and pricing donations, restocking shelves, creating eye-catching displays, serving customers at the till, and keeping the shop clean and welcoming. Whether you're on the shop floor or behind the scenes, you'll be helping to raise vital funds for our work with children and young people. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to help and a positive attitude. Full training and support are provided.
This is our newest venture and something we feel passionate about. Each week we meet with families for a 'Family club' which last about an hour before our Kidz Klubs starts, we do this in all locations. We also have toddler groups in many locations. Each of these groups requires volunteers to come along and get involved with the children and their families, help prepare drinks and meals and much more
This is the name of our headquarters and weekend activity centre. As you can imagine, maintaining large premises and two acres of land requires a lot of volunteers. If you have administration skills, cleaning skills, gardening or maintenance skills, we would like to hear from you. Again, it’s a welcoming and supportive environment, where you will be helped to make a positive contribution to our overall work.
